The question of how many extensions are needed for a full head is one of the most frequently asked by customers. Many factors influence how many packs of extensions you need to buy and how many strands you will need to use for a full head extension, such as the density and length of your current hair, the size of your head, and the desired end result.
Density of natural hair – depending on how dense your natural hair is, you need to purchase enough packs to achieve the desired full head extension/thickening effect.
Current hairstyle – if your current hair is relatively short, consider buying more packs of extensions. This will give you a stunning end result that will look natural and completely replace your current hairstyle.
Head size – although it may seem a little strange at first, head size also affects how many packs of strands you should buy. This is related to the area that the extensions will have to cover to lengthen/thicken the hair on the entire head. The larger the head size, the more strands you will need to use.
Desired end result – this also determines how many packs you will need to buy. Do you want to simply provide yourself with a full and natural-looking end result, or do you want to experiment and create a thick, long hairstyle like a movie star? This question primarily refers to extending with wefts, i.e., sewn-in hair. One row of hair extensions is usually applied when the client wants to thicken the hair and only slightly lengthen it. 2 rows of extensions are applied most often – they allow not only for thickening but also for giving the hair beautiful length on the entire head.
When to opt for 3 rows of weft extensions? First of all, when you want to achieve an even greater final length, but this is not the only reason. 3 rows of wefts will allow for better spacing of the strands, and thus – for even distribution of density in such a way that the hairstyle looks as natural as possible.
It depends, of course. What does it look like in the case of the keratin method? As a standard, it is considered that the best extension results with this method can be achieved using 120-160 strands. When deciding how many packs you will need, also think about the desired length. Keratin hair comes in various lengths – usually 40-60 cm, so also consider which length you are most interested in.
In the case of tape-in (the so-called "sandwich" method), consider how many strands are in one pack and what their length is.
