Hair extensions - clip-in vs. tape-on? Which is for You?

To begin, it's worth noting that both methods are very popular in hairdressing and both have their advantages and disadvantages. The choice between them should be based on an analysis of several factors, primarily your preferences and expectations, your daily lifestyle, and your budget.

makeover using clip in human hair extensions

Let's start with the clip-in method. This involves applying extension strands using small clips that attach to your natural hair. It's a relatively quick method to put on and take off. You can apply them yourself, without needing to visit a hair salon. The biggest advantage is the non-invasiveness of the method, meaning no heat, glue, chemicals, etc., are used. This method is suitable for occasional hair extensions, for a spectacular transformation, but also for daily use. However, extensions are removed daily, and it's not recommended to sleep in them.

In our offer, you can find hair for the clip-in method on our website under the "quick hair" tab. We offer seamless natural clip-in hair (5 strands per pack) in a length of 50 cm – from the extendMe! brand. Our clip-in hair is very thick, designed for any styling, and comes in a rich color palette – from light, platinum, and silvery blondes, through sunny and natural blondes, various shades of browns, to deep black. The hair is not only easy to apply but also to care for using the dedicated careMe! cosmetics offered on the site.

application of tape in hair extensions

What is the tape-on method? How does it differ from clip-in?

In this method, extension hair strands are attached using very thin, almost invisible adhesive tapes to natural hair in an alternating fashion, creating what are called "sandwiches." The advantage of this solution is the absence of clips, which, if improperly attached or on very thin natural hair, could be visible and palpable. Tapes create a very flat and invisible extension effect, making the hairstyle very natural and aesthetic. Tapes are also lighter to wear than clips,
significantly increasing the comfort of wearing extensions. Additionally, they
don't weigh down the hair as much as clips.

The tape-on method is designed for daily wear, not just occasional use. You can perform all your daily activities and routines, sleep, run, exercise, go to work, etc., with them. However, tape-on hair application is performed in a hair salon; it's not possible to do it yourself at home. Since this is a permanent attachment method, you must be aware of the necessary, regular adjustments, always done at a hair salon, to lift the extensions (every 6-8 weeks due to natural hair growth).

In our offer, you'll find tape-on hair made from high-quality Remy natural hair. Strands can have a standard width of 3 or 4 cm, depending on individual needs. The natural hair is seamlessly embedded into a very comfortable, smooth, flexible tape. We also offer semi tape 3 cm strands, especially dedicated to ladies with thinner and more delicate hair. This provides an excellent combination of standard tape with an additional layer of hair that covers the tape, making the effect more discreet and natural. Semi tape 3 cm are practically invisible, exceptionally light, and comfortable to wear.

Also worth noting are the invisible tape 3 cm strands, also made from 100% Remy human hair. In this case, the strands are implanted into a tape that mimics the scalp. The effect is therefore almost completely invisible and exceptionally natural. Invisible tape 3 cm strands are typically applied to the upper part of the attachment in the tape-in method, using standard tape 3 cm or 4 cm strands from below.
