GUIDE
How to care for self-application hair extensions? Care guide for clip-in, ponytail, and halo hair.
Taking care of your self-application hair extensions is essential to keep them looking beautiful, soft, and shiny for as long as possible. Whether you use clip-in hair, ponytail extensions, or halo hairpieces, proper washing, conditioning, and styling techniques will help you maintain their natural appearance and prolong their lifespan. Follow these simple steps to enjoy perfect hair every day.
Keep your extensions beautiful
WASHING
1. Brush your hair thoroughly before washing.
Use a brush – ideally one with boar bristles, as it adds shine and prevents static. Start brushing from the ends and move upwards to avoid tangling. To make the process easier, hold the hair near the base.
2. Prepare a shampoo bath.
Add approximately 10 ml of shampoo designed for hair extensions (e.g. careMe! Moisturising Shampoo or hairtalk Daily Shampoo) to 1 litre of lukewarm water.
3. Immerse the hair in the solution and wash gently.
Do not rub or squeeze. Gentle movements are enough to clean the hair without damaging its structure.
4. Rinse thoroughly under lukewarm running water.
Always rinse from top to bottom to maintain the hair’s natural shape.

Keep them soft and shiny
CONDITIONING & MOISTURISING
Why is conditioning essential?
Conditioning restores moisture, keeps your extensions smooth, and prevents dryness or frizz.
- Prepare a conditioner bath.
Add approximately 10 ml of conditioner or balm for hair extensions to 1 litre of lukewarm water. - Immerse the hair for 10 minutes.
Do not rub the conditioner directly into the hair. Let it soak in naturally to absorb the nourishing ingredients. - Rinse thoroughly under running water.
Maintain the correct direction of the hair strands while rinsing. - Gently towel-dry the hair.
Avoid rubbing or twisting.
Maintain smoothness and style safely
STYLING & BRUSHING
How to style and brush without damage?
Proper brushing and heat styling keep your extensions tangle-free, smooth, and beautiful for longer.

Blow-dry using lukewarm or cool air.
Always use heat protection products to protect the hair from damage. You can use a straightener or curling iron, but keep the temperature below 180°C. Use an oil for the ends to further protect them and boost hair's shine. With products made of synthetic hair, follow the manufacturer's recommendations. Each product may have different styling directions. For example, the synthetic toppers available in our store are made of high heat sythetic hair, which can be styled up to 160°C.

Brush your hair regularly and gently.
