How to Care for Synthetic Wigs?

A proper hair extension brush is essential for maintaining extensions. Hair with attachments requires extra gentleness when brushing, as tugging can damage the strands—especially at the bonds. Before diving into which specific brush to choose, it’s important to highlight some basic brushing guidelines for hair extensions.
In addition to using a dedicated brush for hair extensions, always remember the correct brushing technique. Never brush your hair immediately after washing, as wet hair is more fragile and prone to stretching. First, gently blot excess water with a soft towel, let the hair dry naturally, and then gently brush it using an appropriate brush, separating the strands carefully. Avoid using a comb.
When brushing, work in layers—start from the top layer and gradually move inward. Don’t begin by brushing from root to tip. Instead, first detangle the ends, then move higher with each pass until you can comfortably brush from root to tip without resistance.
The most effective brushes for extensions are made with natural boar bristles. Boar bristles are flexible yet firm enough to gently brush through the hair without damaging it.
Ideally, a boar bristle brush should be combined with nylon pins. These nylon pins should be longer than the boar bristles to gently detangle the hair while being safe on the extension bonds.
Thanks to the dual-length bristles, the hair becomes smooth and shiny.
